Remote internet

Hi all,

Probably a simple question for those that know!
I need a internet connection in a field I'm in the UK and the the mobile service isn't too bad around here so my first thought is buy a cheap android phone, use the WiFi hotspot feature and keep the phone powered.
Any other ideas? It doesn't need to be fast just reliable. A data sim would probably cost me around £20 a month for the amount of data I need.

Cheers Geoff

Hi Geoff,
Mobile internet is the way as you say. Actually in norway here, and I didn't want to fork out for "line rental" at my apartment, so I went for the "mobile broadband" option. I dont think I can use the sim card for making phone calls, so I get a better package that way, about 20quid for 7Gb with "data roll over". I'm sure you can get better there in the UK though you might not get EU roaming for much longer :p
No internet TV with that data package but otherwise meets my needs, and I can then take it with me if I go somewhere. I actually have a little Huawei E5573; https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ori...861.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4diJkltk
I got from aliexpress at home so I can then connect my laptop, tablets etc.. etc.. without having to use it in a phone directly.

Thanks, that's just the sort of thing I'm looking for, cheaper than a cheap phone too!
Any with external aerial to improve reception?

Thanks for all the replies
