What are the advantages of a relay over a bjt as a switch??

Most times the relay is more rigid but slow.
The BJT has mosttimes less power but is very fast.

What are the advantages of a relay over a bjt as a switch??

Also the relay can offer the advantages of isolating the signal being switched from the relay switching circuitry. The voltage and current of the signal being switched may be significantly greater than the signals being use to activate the relay.
