Rectifier Help

I have a rectifier (3 phase I believe, with 6 diodes) that has three terminals on it:

I also have three wires coming from my alternator, now this is probably going to be a stupid question, but if I put one wire per terminal for input, where do I get power out of?
Also for certain applications another diode trio could be used, but I'm not sure if I need it, either way with a multimeter I measure voltage in, but no voltage out

Any advice at all would be a great help

I actually already have the parts, I'm trying to use the rectifier by itself. And managed to solve the problem :D ! The original alternator used to have a battery terminal that would touch the powered side of the rectifier, which of course didn't come with it. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to figure that out, oh well  Now my issue is getting the right amount of power to my battery, some says they managed it without a voltage regulator, but I don't know how as I generate almost 40V!
