Question on homework

Ok can R2 be considered to be in series with R3 or for that matter can R4 be considered to be in series with R5.

I know that R2 and R4 are in parallel and R3 is in parallel with R5 and R7 and that R5 and R6 are in series.
I'm just not sure about the first part.

Here is the way to break it down.
R1 is in series with the parallel combination of R2 and R4 which is in series with the parallel combination of R3, and R5 in series with R6, and R7, which is in series with R8. Got that?
