Are you able to enter TEST MODE as described in P24?

"Push Power/ Protector" was mentioned on P28....

The most common cause of "protect" mode is a failed output device. In this case.I would suspect that one of the digital amp ICs has failed. There are 6 of them and all of the "detection" lines are connected together so any of them can trigger this fault. The part is a CXD9883M. First disconnect all of the speakers to be sure that a shorted speaker is not the problem. If the unit continues to show protect, I would check the digital amp ICs next.

I have dsconnected all the speakers and the error continue to appear! How can i check the digital amp IC?If I unsolder all of the digital amp IC,to see If the error continues do you think is a good idea?

Can you give me some hints how to check If the gigutal amp IC is faulty?

For sure the fault is one or more of the audio final output IC CXD9883AM.
If you remove them one by one to see which one is faulty you won't succeed as the system will triger the protection even if you remove the faulty one or a good one.
In many cases the faulty IC will overheat with volume even at level 0.
To find the faulty one first remove the heatsink which is secured by three screws.
The next step is to bypass the protection manually in order for the system to keep all the voltages ON when the power is ON.
To do this you need to make a jumper fom pin 4 of any of the CXD9883AM to 3.3V from the capacitor as shown on the picture attached.
When the system is on the faulty CXD9883AM will overheat.
You need to replace it with a good one in order to remove the protection without the manual bypass.
After replacing the faulty CXD9883AM with working one is good to make a cold reset as mention on the service manual by pressing Power Eject an Stop buttons at the same time. A message Cold Reset will apear on the screen and all done.
Note: If you leave the system without any of the CXD9883AM soldered the Protection will still triger. To bypass this you need to leave the jumper as shown on the picture.
I hope tis will help you to solve the problem.SONY DAV-DZ260 CXD9883AM.pngDAV-DZ260 Audio Final Protection Mode.jpegDAV-DZ260 Audio Final Protection Mode.png

"Hello and Happy New Year, sorry to come back to this post, I also have same problem (PUSH POWER PROTECTOR) with a Sony DZ850KW. In my case I was able to identify the faulty IC (CXD9883M) by measuring the outputs with a multimeter. I removed the IC without replacing it, and the system worked for a few minutes before going into protection mode again. At that time, measured the voltages at the power supply output, and they were all correct. At that point, I noticed that a second IC had also failed. Looking at the diagram in the service manual, you can see that each output is managed by an IC, except for the woofer, which uses two ICs. What could be the problem in my case?"
