I'm pretty new here. Usually just a reader. Looking for help on the marking voltage stabilizer. Zte1.5. I work in the semiconductor industry and a customer says the cathode band should be on the positive side but I disagree. It can be used in reverse bias but I don't see anywhere that says it should be marked in reverse. Any thoughts?

Hi Con,
Welcome to AAC,
This is what Google states.

AI Overview
The end of a ZTE1.5 voltage stabilizer diode marked with the cathode ring must be connected to the negative pole of the supply voltage.

Polarity Details for ZTE Diodes
    • ZTE1.5 and ZTE2: The banded end (cathode ring) connects to the negative pole.
    • ZTE2.4 through ZTE5.1: The banded end connects to the positive pole.

On axial foil wrapped and unmarked capacitors the outer foil side goes to ground. After testing to determine the foil side end, I mark the foil side end.
