Hi guys,

My name is Matt, nice to meet you all (1st post).
I'm in the market for a Power Supply, but having trouble identifying a product that will meet all of my criteria.
What would be the best place to ask a product request question, I'm new here and don't want to break any rules.
Could I just go to the Power Electronics and ask such question there?

Thanks,
Matt

Welcome to AAC!

What are your planned usage of a PSU?
What are your anticipated max voltage and current?

You can post your questions and responses here.

Thanks! Can't believe I haven't found this forum sooner!

My Unit Under Test has an I/O line, where I need to supply 4 different voltage levels and check for correct response.
The PSU has to be DIN Rail mounted, and has to be programmable in the range of 0V to 20V (or more), ideally using USB serial communication (but I'm open to explore other protocols).
The power required from the PSU is negligible, 1A is plenty of juice.

OK, the USB control requirement means it is more than just a power supply. It sounds like you are designing an industrial test machine. I did one of those back in about 1985, when I worked at a company that built automotive test equipment for the auto makers, but it tested blower motors.
You need a programmable power supply, or possibly a few of them.

Hi, thanks for your response. Yes, you're right, please read my response just above your original reply.

I suggest checking the "Automation Direct" website first to see what they offer. DIN rail mounting will be a challenge, the programmable supplies I am familiar with are all rack mount..
If this system includes a PLC that can have an analog output that might be an effective alternative. If the power of the provided voltage is inadequate then a direct coupled amplifier should be adequate to provide the required power increase.
