Hi everyone,
I have been given a project as part of my uni course studying theatre lighting to make a practical lighting prop that could be used on the stage for a show.

I have chosen to make something I have seen from the rocky horror picture show which is basically a box with a lever and as the lever is pulled down a lighting bolt lights up from inside the box. (can send a picture if any one can give me some advice)

So i know that main electronics i need to make is a circuit with some LED lights that will light up/flash when the lever is pulled down.

I have never made any electronic devices before so would really appreciate if anyone could help.

I can not put a picture up but basically i need to know what components i need to make an LED circuit which will have the LEDS either flashing or doing a chase sequence when a lever is pulled.
Any suggestions?
