Hello people.

Anyone ever attempted to power laptop motherboard by just using a tool battery as its external power source ?
Laptop in question is Acer Aspire 5742 with everything removed, just bare board. Pulled it out of absolutely busted laptop that, apparently, had been dropped well, screen is a writeoff, no original battery nor power supply. The only PSU i have is for my small lappy that is 16v and i need 19v for this one.

Battery i want to use is from a drill (Parkside x20v series) its a 2000mah li-ion, half of original laptop battery but tools usually pull much more amperage than laptops.

Do i dare to just plug it into this battery ?

The idea is to reuse this board (if its alive) as a low power/profile media centre where i make a nice case and add a proper power supply.
This whole thing is to just test if the board is alive.

I would use the 19.7 since it's closer to the 19V spec. I doubt the 0.9V difference would matter, but since you have options...
