I want to make a power supply which would convert from 230VAC to a positive and negative 55VDC simultaneously. I dont know how would I achieve that. Would I need to actually have 110VDC.
Thank you for your help.
Thank you for your help.
With a peak output voltage of 84V, isn't that a little high for a 55Vdc output?You require a mains step down, centre tapped transformer, rated a 60Vac, 0v, 60Vac
My guess was based upon the typical rectified voltage required for a regulated output.Your guess is just as good as mine at this stage,
For the cost a Transformer and regulators etc, it might be cheaper to buy one readymade.. Is this for an audio amplifier?I want to make a power supply which would convert from 230VAC to a positive and negative 55VDC simultaneously. I dont know how would I achieve that. That's a switched mode. TS may not want that. And you can definitely build for cheaper than that one.For the cost a Transformer and regulators etc, it might be cheaper to buy one readymade..

Yes I know it's a Switchmode, we don't know what the TS needs it for.. that's just an example of what to look for. That's a switched mode. TS may not want that. And you can definitely build for cheaper than that one.
