You can use a dual digitally controlled pot, but you will need a microcontroller between the touch pad and the DCP to make it come out right. The USB part needs some intervening controller to handle the signals.

I use a pair of pushbuttons for UP/DOWN control, and it still takes 12 CMOS logic IC's to control my preamp functions. It's ugly, but it sounds good. And it lives in a closet.

Also,
what kind of microcontroller would you recomend? I am still in school for EE :p and I am still getting there. I guess I would have to program it (I favor the Atmega8) maybe the ATMEGA8-16PC? I know simplistic but I don't need anything intense do I?


Haha, excuse my excessive amount of questions, but I love to know as much as I can before I dive into my projects...

AHAHA! your awesome.... I saw that the other day but I could not find it afterward :'(
