I have this THOMSON TG585 v7 modem. How can I prevent certain user from access to my network?
I don't prevent all only certain user.

 

Is he using your computer, or wirelessly using your modem?

If he is using your modem/router wirelessly, You will have to DENY his IP address from using the router.

yes he uses my modem wirelessly.

but how deny his IP address? my router is THOMSON TG585 v7

 

The router should have software that allows and denies IP addresses.. You can also use a firewall that will not allow his IP to send packets to the router.

Did you enable the wep or wpa encryption for secure access?
Take a look in the manual.

You can also enable MAC address limiting, for devices which don't have WPA/WEP support. But beware this is fairly easy to spoof.

Don't use WEP if you can. It's hideously outdated and insecure, you can crack it in 30 seconds or less by just observing data on the network.

I deleted green arrow in Allowed on WLAN and I pressed Apply button but I don't know why green arrow return. I don't return it.
Is modem need to update ?
