How do I increase the current output of a power supply using a transistor? I am using a 12v .5 amp power supply for 5 stepper motors that call for 2 amps each in parallel. The transistors I have access to are S8050 D 331 and PN2222A 6E.

Hello,

You can not increase the output current of a powersupply by just adding transistors.
You will also need a much bigger transformer.

If you use PWM etc for driving the stepper, the DC power supply V will need to be higher than the required plate voltage of the motor, this is in order for the drive to maintain the exact required current throughout the rpm range.
Max.
