Please help me identify this PSU component?

Hi, apologies if I have posted the wrong forum, I am new member on this forum. Can you please help me identify this faulty component I removed from an LCD PSU board, I have attached a file. All I can see is it have US left hand side, and 125 written on it?

I did not see it before...!

Yes, An Inductor, or is it ? It also might be a fuse.
Need to remove the heat shrink tubing

Hello,

It is hard to tell what the component is.
It looks like there is some heat shrink tubing on it.
Can you post pictures of the component in different directions showing the top and bottom?

Do you suggest I take the wrap off it, this is how it was on the board?

Just remove the black wrapping.
Then only we can be sure if it is a fuse or an Inductor.
Or if you can show me where the component was on the PCB.
From there we can identify the component

I've never seen a fuse like this. It is possible that an inductor was placed in the fuse slot. Check the resistance of the thing.
