Hello,

It is not a commercial made piece of equipment.
It looks like something that has to do with colors.
The buttons C M and Y could stand for cyan, magenta and yellow.

That's what I was thinking, It's sort of a color balance device for ink printing with B being Black level (often labeled K for KEY).

Looks too old to have anything to do with ink- jet printing. The age and coax connector makes me think of analog TV test equipment.
Not ink-jet, old school printers ink for things like large format posters.

Ink-jets use the same nomenclature for the printing process. Video is usually YPbPr or RGB with the luma (black-and-white) info combined into the chroma signals. When you print, you need Black ink.
