Interesting. I remember some of the first (early 80's) TEMPEST certified plasma display replacements for teletypes on ships made by GRiD. They were a possible replacement for the CRT versions of this.

The memory and emission effects of the plasma cell grid structure were well known security issues that caused dim displays from the front emissions shielding grids. They were horrible displays.
