Dear Friends,
Currently I am designing a planar inductor for full Bridge Phase shift topology. I am facing much difficulty in finding a core with optimized area product. i am using design method by Huerly and Wölfe , which is the design based on optimized area product . But with the equations i am not getting a practically available value for area product (18 cm^4, i got presently, I think its too high for an inductor core) more over the current density in the PCB tracks is going very high (up tp 15a/mm2) with present design.
The specifications are as follows:
Peak inductor current including ripple is : 293 A
temprature range : -30°C to 120°C
Input voltage for converter : 240 - 450 V
Output voltage : 10.5 to 15.5 V (continious voltage of 14.5)
Altitude constrain : up to 5000 meters.

Any Suggestion/ hints/opnion would be really helpfull.
Thank You very much

You can't possibly design a planar inductor with a current rating that high. The trace width would have to be measured in centimeters!
I think you have set your expectations too high.
Dear Charles,
Thank you very much for your reply. Actually I am planning for a 12 layer PCB . So the total current will be divided by 12. each layer will have a current of 25 A at Peak condition (@ -30°C).
