Hi

I recently got a PICkit 3, and I can't get it to work with mplab x 1.41, mplab x can't see the PICkit 3 at all.

if I follow the method here:

it works once, and after i reboot, it doesn't work again.

is someone know how to fix it?

with the method, i can sucessfully program a PIC, but it works only once.

 

I do not use MPLABX. Unless you have to use MPLABX due to OS. I would have used MPLAB

Also, have you tried MPLAB IPE?

 

This sounds like it might be a driver issue. Have you installed the other version of mplab?

I have tried the MPLAB IPE, it only work once as well

that happens when I just install the mplab x, but later on I installed a mplab 8 just to talk to the pickit 3 and updated the bootloader, AF etc.. to v1.28 or something

 

ok, I found out something very strange, the pickit 3 only work on the usb port on the right hand side, none of the usb ports on the left works.

but my AVR programmer and Arduino Uno both work fine with the usb ports on the left hand side....

mmm... I really want to connect my pickit 3 on the left as all my stuff are on the left... bummer
