Hey guys,

Any idea how i should connect that phototransistor ?
I bought that one because i thought real phototransistors always come in 3 pins. Now i know i should have bought the black led with 2 pins.

There are at least 3 different pin connections with nothing common, & many output configurations. Back to post #2.

Looking at the image of the photo transistor on the board, it looks like all the pins are shorted together on #45? Maybe it's just me?

I placed the item on every possible position. The salesmen dont know much about photodioded and phototransistors. None was able to orientate me correctly

Typically black is emitter and clear receiver on IR diodes. Terminology gets a bit mixed up on the receive end, some say diode, some say phototransistor. Can't remember coming across a 3 legged one but see some IR emitters with 3 legs on Amazon. YMMV

If you rotate it 90 degrees on the bread board it will be correct. The fact it has three leads makes me think it has a base connection. Using an Ohmmeter you can likely figure out the pin out arrangement.
