In my Philips tuner amplifier 22AH799 there is a bpw22 photoransistor . It is used in a pulser unit for tuning the frequency.
Problem is I can not find a replacement for this bpw22 or a new bpw22.
Is there a way to simulate this bpw22 by means of a photodiode and a transistor or an other way?

In that circuit I suspect almost any general-purpose photo-transistor could be substituted for a BPW22.
