Personal air conditioning units

I saw an article where football players were actively cooled when they were on the bench to bring down their core temperature. They wore a blanket lined with cooling tubes. There was a circulation pump and a large ice chest full of ice and tubing. It was elegantly simple and cheap. They just circulated the water through the chest of ice and through the "cooling blanket" the players wore. Every so often some kids would come out and add ice to the ice chest.
