So im helping my elderly neighbor out. He has little to no money, so he decided to try and fix his car radio. The issue at first was the led display stopped working. He took the face of the radio off and the ribbon or flex cable was broken.

He called me to help him. So I did a quick Google search and that wasn't all that helpful. While i was at work the other day he sent me these pictures. The one with the cable hanging off is the new cable that he ordered online for $6 and the other picture is the port it goes into on the radio face.

Needless to say for some reason the radio is not working, I have a feeling it's the wrong cable. Can someone help me find the proper part? If it helps, the radio is oem out of a 2010 hyundai elantra.

Thank you inadvance for the helpResized_20230711_143535.jpegResized_20230711_143545.jpeg

looks like a standard flexible ribbon cable, probably 0.5mm pitch 20 conductors. cable looks ok (at least part that is shown) but the connector in second picture does not look good, it is bent and retention clip is missing so it would need a replacement.
if the cable is also damaged, show both ends, the length, and the width. the things is that contacts can be on top or bottom side so it is better the check that first... nice thing about FFC cables is that they are always just straight parallel conductors (with FPC that is not necessarily the case). so once you get the correct pitch, length and polarity, you are all set.
