You are right. Revised advice.

1. Identify all essential nodes.
2. Pick one as the reference (ground)
3. Assign voltages V1, V2… to the other essential nodes
4. Write an equation for the current out of each of these nodes.
5. Solve the equations for V1,V2…
6. Compute V0 from the resulting voltages.
