Hi,

I need some help drawing the circuit diagram for this FET amplifier circuit i attempted it in the picture on the top right but i'm sure its incorrect
also i'm unsure what the grey square component is. can someone please help me

 

The grey component appears to be a 15 nF, 250 V capacitor.

You need to trace your circuit better. Your schematic shows the 12 V connected to two components, but it appears it is only connected to the a single resistor.

The cathode of the diode is connected to two other components, but your schematic only has it connected to one.

Verify the pinout of your FET -- I don't think you have it correct.

i have redrawn the diagram with your input in mind. the FET is a BF245C.
