Hi

I am needing some help restoring eklectronics in a movie costume . I am trying to build a circuit which will switch between two different colored LEDs one blinking and one that stays steady . I would also like to be able to vary the time that each led stays on and the rate at which the blinking LED blinks . I can be reached at lionelz66@gmail.com and would be happy to pay for the help

You need to look at 555 timer circuits for flashing LEDs. See Bill's Blog on this site. Here and here. Take a look and come back with questions.

To flash an LED at, say 1Hz for 10 seconds, requires two timer circuits; one to time the flashes and the other to time the "on" interval.

If you could live with a fixed blink rate, there are LEDs you can buy that have flashing built into them.
