OK, much more reasonable and totally not what I had guessed. I have a caution, which is that the circuit in post #10 will draw a small constant standby current, so the batteries would eventually be drained.

Hello again. Just curious, does anyone here know of anyone who makes Small batches of circuit boards at Not breaking the bank prices? To repeat the complete circuit board has to fit inside a 15mm tube. Length is with reason, flexible.

If anyone knows of a source PLEASE include the link and if you know, tell me what I need to pass onto the board maker for a quote. My first time doing something like that.

Thanks Again to ALL for your help here.

That`s Great! Thank You for the link.
What do I need to send them to get a quote? The schematic from above and specify SMD and the board width?

To get a price on a PCB production you usually need to have a layout to be produced. Creating an actual layout pattern from a circuit is not a trivial task, even with an auto-router helping. AND, even with an auto-router you still need to verify that the components you want to use will fit the layout it generates.

Or you could draw your design with a sharpie on a copper clad board etch one yourself. That's how I got started when I was beginning in electronics as a young teen.

For something that size, I can`t even try to draw a small enough circuit trace with my hand tremors. I need to find somehow to get the schematic to a company who can make the circuit board from that and them know it is for SMD parts, IF that is possible.

I have used CAD software to draw very fine detailed designs. Certainly a whole lot that I can not draw by hand.
Using the computer allows me to avoid my physical limitations quite adequately. It does take patience and a bit of practice,
there is no question about that. There is no "Royal Road" to doing it well.

My experience is that if I can imagine it, I can draw it. Usually! And if it can't be drawn, then the imagination part may be in error.

Exactly how many parts will need to be on the pc board inside the cylinder?
What about the potentiometer?

Hello, every part in the schematic above goes inside the cylinder. The circuit board can not be wider than 15mm with parts mounted on it. It`s length of course be longer than width. The ONLY parts at one end are the variable pot and the Magnetic Reed switch. I planned on having the Reed switch half mounted on the board and the other have as a plug for the main Lipo 3.7v battery to plug into.

Many of us here use JLCPCB.

They currently charge only $2 for 5 small PCBs and about $25 shipping to the US. The quality is quite good.
I just joined the site and sent them a few questions, they are NOT on line to reply right now. I await their reply.

If they require a circuit design, not sure the proper name, Could you look at the last schematic here, that is what I want. Can you draw what is needed and let me know what you would charge for that. Please let me know when you can. Thanks, George

For one-off board, I use an X-acto knife to cut away channels for SMD pads.
For small quantities, I etch boards on a CNC engraver.

Post your schematics and/or PCB layout and I can have a look at it.

If this is a final prototype design, give me the dimensions of the board and the footprint (IC package) of IC1.
I can etch one proto board at no cost.

Wow, Thank You for your offer. From what little I know about this stuff. I am looking to fit this board with ALL it parts mounted on it in the cylinder : 15mm wide by what ever length makes it easy to fit / work with mounting the parts onto it. As for the I.C 1--- LMC555. I do mot know it`s size specs. Can I ask you to research one for that info. then send me the link to its dealer, I will order as many as I need.
This is NOT a one off. I was looking at making 12 running Torpedoes. Please let me know IF you can help me with that and what you would for compensation.

Again Thank you to ALL of you for your Time / Help..

The IC1 555-timer comes from different manufacturers in different packages. I am going to select SOIC-8 package (approx. 6 x 6 mm).
Don't worry about the dealer for now. They are readily available.

LMC555CMX
TLC555CDR

You can go to smaller packages and smaller components. The smallest I work with are 0805 size (0.08 x 0.05 inch or 2.00 x 1.25 mm) resistors and capacitors. A PCB shop will work with smaller components if size is an issue.
