Well I was given an ASUS PRIME H410M-E motherboard with a PC case, 500 watt PSU, and 16GB RAM ( two 8GB RAM ). I then purchased a 1660 super OC edition GPU for it. I don't have much knowledge about building computers so I wanted to get some feedback before I commit to getting the final part.

So when we think of computers, we generally think of:

1. PC = Personal Computer
2. Computer Workstation
3. Gaming system
4. Server

So the first question you want to ask is, "What operating system I want to run on the computer?"

The three (or maybe four) dominant OS are:

1. Windows
2. Apple
3. Linux
4. Android

FYI, I don't build PC. In fact I don't buy new PC systems. When I need another PC, I buy a refurbished PC for less than $100. In many cases, the PCs I am using are salvaged from the dumpster. They serve my needs well enough. Some of my computers are still running WIN XP, WIN 98 and WIN 7. Sometimes, I even go to DOS 3,1.

Thank you both for your input. The last thing I need is to figure out which SSD to use. I found two on Amazon that is within my budget. They are the SAMSUNG 990 EVO and the WD_Black SN7100, both 1TB. Do you think either of these would work?

Seems like you've already committed unless your willing to toss the motherboard. :D

The computer doesn't need a lot of power for mindcraft.
Review the motherboard specs and compatibility listings on their website. Then choose CPU, RAM (16GB min), Graphics card, and disk. I recommend an SSD (500GB) for OS and 2TB HD for data (2ea-2TB HD for mirror if its in your budget).
