I am currently working on a project that requires a motor to run this way and then hit a switch that would enable it to reverse its polarity. However, I have to wait for a signal from an LDR and this signal is what would drive the motor the other way.

Is there an automatic DPDT switch that I could use?

we need a lot more description of what sort of functions the circuit needs to provide, and also what sort of motor you intend to use, since there are many different kinds of motors, each kind having quite different control and power requirements. And most of the folks reading are neither mind readers nor do we have the fantastic vision capability to see what sort of blinds you are intending to operate.
So please give us a description of the system you seek to create.
