While taking apart an extremely small chinese webcam, I encountered the part depicted here. Might a friendly soul explain to me what it is? It seems disposable, as the webcam appears to work without it (at least for now). Thanks in advance!

I agree with @AlbertHall. That is definitely a lithium cell. Looks to be about the same size as the cell in my Chinese made dash-cam. I had to replace that last year as it swelled and pushed the casing open.
