can you draw out circuit how the hall sensors connect to the 165's please,
and what are the hall sensors your using ?

All sorts of potential features there,
decoupling, grounds, clock termination , power

How's the board and the Arduino powered ?
hows the ground from the arduino to the board done ?
can you draw schematic of that part please .

how are the hall sensors powered,

OK, I will do my best to draw a circuit in the near future...
If you read one of my previous post I already told that the sensor are MURATA AS-M15TAN...
The output of each sensor is connected to the HC165 using a simple 22/24 AWG wire...
The wire goes straight to one of the input on the HC165....
Also, each input is grounded via a 1K resistor to the GND BUS...
Both the board and the Arduino are powered by the same power supply which is in charge to power ALL the system for the DC side...
The power supply can output +12V, -12V, 3.3v and 5V...
It is a Mean Well QP-100-3B...
The ground output from the power supply will generate the GND BUS for all the DC side of the elctronic components...
So there is one GND cable splitted into several wires each going to some components...
The sensors are powered with 5V and the same GND as before...
The HC165 is powered with 5V and the same GND BUS....
The Arduino is powered at 12V....
