Multimeter Banana connection -- need male-to-male adapter.

Hi and thanks for the add!

What I am looking to do is to build a copy of the Mend it Mark capacitor discharge tool. Mark used a sharpened screw for the case probe, and put in a multimeter jack on the side to plug in a conventional test probe to touch to the other side of the cap to be drained.

What I'd like to do is to replace the sharpened screw on the bottom with a male jack to which I could grab a probe from my case. The probes all have female ends, and the case mounted jacks are all female. So I need to find a male to male adapter with no wire to which I could connect a probe to the device if needed, or if I need two wired probes I could do that as well. I hope that I'm explaining myself clearly.

Checking Mouser, Digikey, Amazon, Ali Express and even Temu all came up short. Has anyone ever seen something like what I am trying to find?

I have never seen such an adapter, and since it would normally create an exposed contact area it is not likely that such a device will ever be made.
Aside from that, whatever your procedure is, I do not understand it. ALSO , what styple of capacitors are you intending to discharge?? That part is not clear to me either.

If it were me, I'd have two female sockets on the case and use both meter probes instead of one. No need then for any adapter.
Thanks, I want that to be an option, but if one wants to use the short button then one would have to use gator clips on the ports and then press the short button to speed things along. To replace the screw "body probe" with a real probe would be great. I know that this tool appears to be overkill, but I think that it would be great and work well. Here is the schematic and drawings. The actual tool can be seen on Youtube (don't know if the link is OK to post so I won't but if you search "Mend it mark capacitor tool" you'll find it).

Hi --

I've includedphotos in other replies; I intend to discharge caps in the power supplies of audio systems. Not interested in doing ElectroBOOM impressions. :)

I don't really know what you are looking for. I needed a male-to-male banana as it passes through a PCB. I used 3266 on the right and 654 is a shorter version of what is on the left. They screw together. (digikey)

This is sort of what I need. It makes the connection, but since the tool is designed to discharge large power supply caps, I wanted a shrouded banana adapter in order to protect the user (me to start) from accidental shock.

The outlet that I am building into the case is a female adapter designed to accept a shrouded banana test lead (like a pin or probe) or a probe to ride in the outlet directly on the case.

Banana Male to Male jumpers - that's exactly what I was going to suggest.
This is sort of what I need. It makes the connection, but since the tool is designed to discharge large power supply caps, I wanted a shrouded banana adapter in order to protect the user (me to start) from accidental shock.
If the caps themselves are physically accessible then use an automotive light bulb (provided the cap voltage isn't in excess of 16V). Clip an alligator on one cap lead and with the bulb and probe touch the other side of the cap. It should drain the cap fairly quickly. If not quick enough then instead of a clip and probe go with two clips. Clip one lead then clip the other. Let the bulb do the work. If you want faster then go with a DC motor.

I've seen those male and female units. They're designed to force you to buy the exact replacements from the vendor. But short jumpers will work. And you can even cut the excess plastic off of the body revealing the banana. That shouldn't hurt anything and probably wouldn't create a hazard.

What voltages are these caps charging to?

OK, the assembly of two male banana plugs can be done with either a threaded spacer that they both screw into. But it has already been shown in post #10, so I am a bit late.
