I've just dismantled a dead Sony-badged laptop and assumed it was made in Japan. However, the label says 'Made in China'. The hard drive is badged Fujitsu and its label says 'Made in Korea'. I stripped down the hard drive and spotted an IC on its pcb labelled 'Made in Thailand'.

I bet you will also see Philippines, Singapore, mexico and a fair few others.
