Im looking for a part recommendation

I need a n channel that can do 1A + with a mohm RDS on.
Must be able to take 40V from source to drain
Anyone have any ideas. Essentially i need a super low voltage drop across the source to drain

 

digikey has a fantastic parametric search option where you can specify such things and they will show you all they have- you can then get the datasheet and ensure it meets your need.

 

The Vgs voltage that turns it on to the low on-resistance is also an important spec that you need to look for.

 

There is another aspect of the problem to consider. I assume you want such a part to be readily available at a reasonable cost. Besides the technical specs, what would be a "reasonable" cost?

Digikey has at least 1 from Infineon with 100 mOhm Rds(on), not recommended for new designs, and not packaged

What will be the gate voltage?

If you want a TO220 with Vth of 2 Volts, have a look at something like these:

should of added that, looking for a 5v gate or i will level shift if needed
package i dont care either way but smaller the better
