I have a fisher Paykel washer, it blew a fuse in the circuit board and after replacing it and blowing it again with nothing connected to the board, I found a diode that seems bad. I can't seem to locate one though. It is BYW59C. Anybody have any suggestions? F&P only sells the complete circuit board

Thank you very much for the diode information, I can't find that diode to purchase though. I called "electronic surplus" and they sent me to the NTE cross reference guide which doesn't list that diode, anyone have a suggestion? Again, it is BYW 59C.

If it is a leaded diode, any other diode good for those specs should substitute. I wonder if the recovery time is at all significant.

Have you looked for something on the other side of that diode that might also be bad - something like a capacitor?
