Perhaps, but having something you can drop more than 6 inches or sit on without breaking is rather nice!I'm a desk jockey. I don't require an anvil.

I agree with the notion that this is the future. The smartphone that most people now carry around with them is far superior to computers we were using not that many years ago. They have more than adequate power to fill the needs of casual users. It's silly to have to buy a computer for home just to overcome the still-constrained form factor of the phone. Phones and computers have largely converged but there is still room for more.
Did you ever get your S8? Anything to report? That's exactly going to be my next phone, and I'll be getting it within a week...
Hi,40 year ago, I bought a TRS-80, and everyone asked the same question.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Yes. But the monitor is on the fritz. Horizontal scan works fine, but no vertical. Someday I'll have you guys help me fix it (I'm not a video/CRT expert).Hi,
Still have it? I still have mine and it works, but i dont use it anymore of course. I loved it when it was my main computer though and used it every day.
Yup... I've got two of them, actually. Or rather, I bought one for my wife and the other one for my 20 year old boy (I'm still stuck with my old S7, but I don't mind). And they're both extremely happy with them. They're quite pleased with its speed, and the tools available to manage and edit media, among other things.Did you ever get your S8? Anything to report?
I'm still in love with mine -- well, the undamaged replacement of the original.
Dropped it a few times in its case with no problems.

Check all the Solder Joints and Check your B+ in from the Power supply make sure it's properly smoothed, then if you can get hold of a schematic replace all the Electrolytic Caps in the Vertical Section. You could also have a failed Vertical IC but that would be do to bad caps slaving the IC. I'm no expert either.Yes. But the monitor is on the fritz. Horizontal scan works fine, but no vertical. That's why just I buy cheap phones. Do not regret if I break it.It is also slippery and fragile -- which I very quickly discovered. Before I had a chance to put it in its new case, it slipped out of my hands on onto the floor... from no more than three feet.
On the other hand, consider what it costs to use a smartphone over its lifetime, say 4 years if you're lucky. If you're paying $40 per month for cell service with data (and many people pay a lot more), the service for your phone is going to cost you $1,920 over the life of the phone. If I'm going to pay almost $2K for the pleasure of the service, it's worth spending a few dollars more for a phone that takes best advantage of that service. That's why just I buy cheap phones. Do not regret if I break it.
Actually, my S8+ looks pretty darn good in the case I bought (photographed with my Samsung Tab S2 which was also cutting-edge last year) :Just about everyone puts their phones in hideous cases that hide all that design work...

Apple IS the world. If you're not compatible, that's your problem not their's.It is amazing to me that Apple can get away with all the incompatibilities with the rest of the world.
So my iPhone practices safe-computing. Sounds like a good precaution against whatever STDs you Android unwashed might be carrying. An iPhone can't even Bluetooth files to a non-Apple device!
I'm waiting to see what happens when a AMD processor integrates with a Intel processor. I've learned that such a thing might happen full integration of smaller devices might just change the way we do things.Apple IS the world. If you're not compatible, that's your problem not their's.

And I'm partial to Golden and Granny Smith ... they make perfect fillings for apple pies...Edit: I really not be big fan of Apples, it requires some salt. Tastes much better and balances the sweetness.
