Hi everyone,

Capacitors be swapped out with others?
Say I have a capacitors that popped. This capacitor is rated at 25v 10uf. Can I replace it with a 50v 200uf?

In a particular instance, possibly, but in general no. That capacitor will be much bigger than the original so it is unlikely to physically fit. The much larger capacitance may also cause problems for many circuits.

A higher voltage, but not too much higher, replacement would be good providing it fits.
Keep close to the original capacitance value unless you know and understand the circuit and can verify the effects of changing the capacitance.
