Using a MICROWAVE PRIMARY COIL for a home-made spot-welder.
Typically these have 2 input terminals/wires that you connect your black & white ac plug wires to.
Mine has 3 INPUT TERMINALS/WIRES.
Do not know which to connect to black/white plug wires.
Transformer = SAMSUNG SHV-U1870C
I am doing the same,and I cannot find if center tap is only for a ground connection or for the international groups like the EU or Australia which use 220v ac. The manufacture is a Korean co. Listed as Nantong DPC electronics , LTd. Email: is http;m.en.dpc-c.en
This was after researching the Samsung web page. I have not contacted. I have not tried DPC(digital communications company.LTd.), It was recommended to make up
My own message and forget yours I can make measurements on primary windings however I dont like HV windings on XFMR.
I cant find your Email, new to this website.

I was used in software engineering for awhile but have been an electronics hobbyist since high school and now 77yrs old. I WAS SURPRISED that the XFMR windings are aluminum and not copper.

I looked over the schematics on a Kenmore microwave oven. This an expensive model and fits above the counter top and has own ventilation system.
It has several door interlock switches and will blow main fuse on purpose if not working right. My analysis of MOT section shows that if both interlock switches and monitor switch works ok. The smaller and lower resistance of winding is not used and shorted out. Two terminals have a small space and third has a larger spade.
This oven is far more complex. Has alot of interlocks, thermal sensors,gas sensors,flame sensors.The software to controller section in rom is much more than my cheap one here. Thanks to whoever sent me the pdf SERVICE MANUEL.

THE INRUSH CURRENT IS ANOTHER PROBLEM, THE MOT MAY DRAW TOO MUCH CURRENT ON STARTUP AND TRIP CIRCUIT BREAKERS TO HOUSE POWER MAINS. A RELAY AND LIMITING RESISTOR IS USED AT THE TAPPED SECTION TO LIMIT CURRENT. THIS MOT HAS HIGH POWER AND LOW POWER SETTINGS. I DONT KNOW THE SOFTWARE WORKS FOR THE TWO SECONDARY RELAYS FROM CONTROLLER BOARD. ALTERNATE USE WILL SWITCH ADDITIONAL WINDING IN AND OUT WHEN NEEDED. ONLY THE SERVICE TECH AND SOFTWARE ENGINEER WOULD KNOW.
