I've been a fan of your analyses of things for years, starting with the time you revealed a snickers bar has more potential energy than a stick of dynamite. (Edit: link - one month after signing up)As best I can find quickly...
Was it worth it?
The exact words that went through my head when looking at the pictures.looks remarkably good

Go to a Dairy Queen and order a shake, they still use those mixers to this day. Or at least all of the local ones do.Remarkable good pictures. The really sad part of this thread is my fond memories of going to the "Soda Fountain" and ordering a shake and watching a soda jerk make my shake on one of these mixers
Maybe a Blizzard is a milk shake on your side of the border, but here in the sticks a milk shake is drank through a straw.Maybe a few changes
DQ Blizzard maker.
Delta & Star? But that seems to indicate 3ph.CY means "torque in star",
CΔ means "torque in delta"

Agree ! But obviously 1ph.Delta & Star? But that seems to indicate 3ph.
I am wondering how that relates to a single phase universal motor.I wondering if that motor was plated pre-NEMA ?
Delta & Star? But that seems to indicate 3ph.
Technically speaking, all motors use commutation. DC, BLDC, AC 1p & 3ph.I am wondering if there even could be a three-phase commutated motor. it could not be "universal" because 3-phase is AC only.
All of that may be true but you eat a Blizzard with a spoon and drink a milkshake with a straw. Unless you take your blizzard home and microwave it."The idea for the now-iconic Blizzard came from a Dairy Queen franchisee in Missouri. Samuel Temperato, who owned a whopping 67 DQ locations, It remains the most popular DQ item on the menu today, in the US, anyway."
Have to share this. After the family moved from NY to Ohio I visited. OK went to the DQ and ordered a "grape soda" I got this thing with what was in Ohio speak, grape pop with vanilla ice cream. My first lesson in pop. Hell growing up if you ordered a Coke at the soda fountain it was a few squirts of coke syrup and then seltzer and stirred.Go to a Dairy Queen and order a shake, they still use those mixers to this day. Or at least all of the local ones do.
But interesting that the plate has a "CY" item on it.It would obviously appear to be a 1ph motor, so the interpretation of 3ph is rather moot!
The SI unit hertz (Hz) was established in Rudolf Hertz's honor by the International Electrotechnical Commission in 1930 for frequency,I find electrical motors interesting, but why is CY only 0-60, why not 0-100? Maybe 0-60 because that's about all one can get in the US?
Remember that Hz (Cycles) has no real relevance in the case of a series field brushed (Universal) AC/DC motor. But interesting that the plate has a "CY" item on it.
I txt'd a buddy of mine, most likely series wound dc-60Hz motor.
I find electrical motors interesting, but why is CY only 0-60, why not 0-100? Maybe 0-60 because that's about all one can get in the US?
I have 3 within that distance. Now my closest DQ is about 7.5 miles.![]()
