Marquee Lights - Looking for ideas—can this be done realistically?

NO, it is not close to being suitable for the marquee lights. IT IS, However an interesting geometrical representation of how a mechanical version might have been arranged. And an interesting marketing concept.

An investigation into the large number of application rules and regulations, and the local electrical regulations, prior to starting an actual design, is a very good choice.
In my city the local government has added some really new rules about business lights that are visible from any public roadway. The results being that I have had a request to disable lighting that has been acceptable for several years.

No, but it was similar in operation to a vintage mechanical unit that someone had given me back in the early 80s. It was the actual retired unit from the local theater that controlled its chaser lights. It had many contacts in a circle, and when powered it revolved, and certain contacts were energized. Very noisy too. Fond memories…LOL
