I found a youtube vid with someone changing the MIP2K2 IC, then he bridged the R131 with a thin wire.

I tried that for a test and the board is working and charging again?

Yes its working.

I was expecting the wire to blow, so was a bit surprised when it worked.
As when I first seen the the blown resistor I suspected something else was possibly responsible for it to fail. Which still might be the case at some point?? but its good for now.
