Hello
I tried making a cheap lowpass filter for a 555timer synth last night and it failed, ruining my chip.
I tried hooking up a 47uf capacitor (in series, not sure if that was right or not) with the 100uf capacitor going from output of timer to audio out.

I then put a 100k pot in parallel with 47uf cap, think it would change the cutoff. Well, I must be missing something.
Any suggestions for newb?

At somepoint I want this to be an active filter with resonance but for now I just want make the shit one.

Can you make a drawing of what you tried to do and post it?
Is the lowpass filter intended to fit between the 555 and the audio amplifier?
