Hi. a neighbour has a Markon 15kVA generator that has 4 slip rings and 2 sets of 3-phase coils/transformers which provide the feedback and regulation. I suspect that the 4 slip rings are to provide phase by phase regulation. The problem is that one of the coil sets had broken away from it's mounting, wrecking one of the coils. I also suspect that I could replace the coils with an electronic AVR.

Please advise.

 

Post #1 does not provide nearly enough information to even attempt to provide a useful answer. If parts and pieces are broken then they should be replaced. If a user was careless enough to let bolts come loose then there is no hope.
