Looking for a very old magazine article, could be around the 70s/80s. It was an article about communicating with your plants, and was basically a lie detector circuit, with an output to a 50/0/50 meter. Could be either elementary Electronics or Popular Electronics Magazine

If you are not interested than move along, rather than harassing me. I THOUGHT this was a helpful place
In no way am I harassing your, it's the other way around, you harassing me for not being an inhuman slave. I actually looked to find some useful modern information for you instead of a likely poor circuit from long ago and this is the thanks I get?

There is a thing called dialog, you know back and forth with ideas.

I am looking for the actual article, thank you for the "help".
Do you have any reference points for the article? Like a cite in other articles or posts, or is this article an urban legend?

If you do have anything, post it here, so someone interested in this sort of stuff can help you.

I actually had the magazine in my youth, but unfortunately, due to multiple moves have since lost it. As I lived in a small town up north, I could not ever complete the circuit, as I did not know all the ways to get a 50/0/50 meter, that I know now.

Do you recall what sort of scheme was used to detect the signal from the plants? Did it amplify the voltage to vary a frequency of a tone?? or just amplify a voltage?? I have access to a few circuits. I undoubtedly read the article back then, but I do not recal any details.
And certainly an on-line search will get a lot of hits.
AND, seqrch "schematics for free" gardening and "misc".

I've searched for old articles before, there are archive sites.

But saying "70s or 80s" mean potentially 240 distinct issues to search.

Try to narrow the window, like do you recall anything else in the magazine, some other article perhaps, any recollection of the cover image?

I think I recall reading that article in about 1968-70 timeframe (high school).

What I remember was, as someone suggested, a “lie detector” circuit, i.e. an expanded scale Ohmmeter.
