Hi all after some help on the design of a 230v circuit

We have some external lights, that need to be over ridden by a retractable switch. The retractable switch needs to be able to turn the lights on or off at any time, but will reset regardless up on photocell deactivation
The circuit photocell will allow the lights to come at dusk, all the way until dawn

 

How are you switching the lights on now with a nema photocell, or photo cell and contactor, what wattage lighting ?

 

116W of lighting. Currently in the process of being wired, so its a blank canvas really

 

Only solution thats easily sorted, is a pneumatic light switch, which could override your photocell in the daytime upto 10mins,..

An over ride that will cut out when its day... seems impossible

Yes it's possible, the pneumatic switch uses a mechanical spring to relase it, so during the day( lights would be off) if you pressed the switch it will short out the photocell output and put the lights on for a set period upto 10mins (adjusted by spring tension) then turn off. If you use a Nema photocell the switch is wired across the Live in and Live out terminals.
