Has anybody in the US used JLC's
Global Standard Direct Line (DAP) shipping recently?

My usual inclination is to use DHL, but more than tripling the bill from the cheap option is difficult to handle. $5 worth of (bare) pcbs for $45 vs $13 total.

What duties and tariffs were collected and how did the process work?

Thanks for any info!

Not only JLCPCB but also at Aliexpress. Few days ago I needed some components to ship to UAE. Was shocked at checkout page that was showing me 90% tax (yes, it's 89.67% exactly). While UAE impose only 5% import duty and they collect it at delivery time. What is going on I don't know. I asked their online agent about this and she was unable to justify it at all. After two days they send me an email with some useless stuff.

I placed an order with JLC using DAP a few weeks ago, and had no problem whatsoever. Taxes were pre-paid and none were collected when it was delivered ... then again, I'm located in Mexico.

My pcbs arrived yesterday, 12 days after ordering. I used Global Direct Line shipping, which is DAP.

Two batches of 10 boards, less than 100mm × 100mm – $10 to fab the boards, about $2 in tax and about $12 in shipping. Just over $24 total.

They were delivered by USPS (postal) and no additional fees were demanded. Your mileage may vary.

I recently discovered Annex32 Basic for ESP8266/ESP32 and most of my apps require just a few connections and maybe pullup resistors (sensors, displays). Rather than a rat's nest of Dupont cables, I created a "mother board" with many connected pads to allow for varying module widths and components. I think this is going to be a very useful design.

There are 0805 pads from each pin to Vcc and ground for pullup resistors and various pin arrangements for other components. The pin functions aren't on the mother board as there's no consistency in arrangements.
