Anyone has ordered from JLCPCB post-sanctions?

My very last order I placed before the Chinese tariffs deadline, and arrived just fine even though the tariffs had already been implemented, but the DeMinimus exemption was still in place.

I need to order some boards but have heard all sorts of horror stories about small packages being charged a minimum of $100, ignore the truthfulness of those.

On a $185 assembly order from JLC, delivered by DHL, no tarrif or additional fees were charged.

On a $68 parts order from Tayda Electronics (Thailand), delivered by DHL, no tarrif or additional fees were charged.

On a $16 + tax and shipping from Avnet, a ~$10 "tarrif recovery fee" was charged, later reduced to ~$3. This was for ST Micro triacs, which had to be in the US already, as they shipped the next day.

On a Digikey order, two tarrifs were charged:

10% on TDK capacitors

A little less than 10% on $2 of diodes.

Again, both of these parts had to be in the US as they shipped the next day.

Very informative, thanks!

Indeed, both Digikey and Mouser have been charging the tariffs for a long while now.
Digikey has even the option to exclude tariffed components from a component search.

I imported custom cabinet doors from Canada when remodeling my kitchen in 2004. I paid no tariff when the cabinets arrived. Months later, I got a bill from U.S. customs.

So don’t assume you have avoided a tariff just because it was not charged to you before receiving the item.

Elecrow does not seem to be asking for an SSN so far.
Technically JLCPCB seems to always needed an identifier for receiver but before nobody was asking or looking . Looking at a typical DHL tracking from China to here, I (my specific name) was never listed directly as a receiver. JCLPCB/DHL seems to have been using slight of hand and used something I can't find (maybe Mr. payola) as the official receiver. I only know the tracking number/waybill

And today JCPCB is back to not asking for a SSN, at least for small amounts, like my fake reorder. Pretty sure they decided the total drop-off in hobby orders was not worth it (whatever it, is). Must be a culture thing, not realizing that the SSN requirement for causal purchases is the USA version of business suicide. Maybe it was an intentional work stoppage, shifting orders from the holiday work time-frame.

As of 4/27/25, JLCPCB is posting this information page about US tariffs:
https://jlcpcb.com/help/article/us-tariff-policy-faq

They mention "Total cumulative tariffs: Approximately 202.5%".
They also say that for individual orders, they will impose a markup of 175%, but then they add "JLCPCB will ensure that payments are corrected by refunding for overpayments and charging for shortfalls".

Seems like shipping costs have increased a lot.

Plus, the last time I checked a few days ago, the only shipping options offered by JLC were DHL and UPS. The cheap options were gone.

In my case, I'm looking for 5 prototype PCB's and 20 small 3D printed parts. It's not the merchandise or the tariffs, it's the freakin' shipping:

UPS is $10 cheaper than DHL on shipping. But still WHY is shipping so much?
