My question is: does the transconductance curve of the JFET apply to the ohmic region? or only in the active region?
the textbook "Electronic principles" seems to state that it applies no matter what the external circuit looks like, including operation in the ohmic region, and it uses the curve for solving problems in the ohmic region, but output characteristics curve suggests that at low VDS, ID value doesn't become a function of VGS only.
