JBL Charge 2+ Wont turn on

Hello guys. I have a JBL Charge 2+, and i got it as a gift. It has no battery inside, but googled that i can turn it on without the battery by just plugging the charger in. I did that but the speaker does not respond at all, and all it shows is a white power button LED, and thats all. When i plug in the cable, the LED turns on and it does not blink or anything, its solid. Pressing the button also does nothing. Is there any way i can fix this issue, and if you guys can help me i would appreciate it alot. Thanks.
