Bingo. The only people I've ever heard say that grades don't matter are those that didn't get good ones.
The same thing can be said about scientific articles: Only those who do not have them say they are not important.

Just as students are "judged" on the notes that they receive,
In professional scientific activity we are "judged" according to how many articleswe had and in which publications.

Students have school grades, we had articles.

Scientometrics -To measure how good and "how smart" is a scientist.
What is it about career?
Many states pay people in science according to these scores. It is critical in receiving a project.

Return to citation:
Apparently it is so.
I did not see a musician to say that music is not important.I did not see an artist to say that art is not important.
Finally, I have not to see a student who learns hard to get a good mark to say that the mark he received is not important because it "worked" for it.

But we do not take into account the next thing:
A student who takes a high grade and he did not wanted it directly.
For example a student who had electronics as hobby. Standing a long time with a soldering iron in his hand. Losing much time reading, computing, and trying to make perfect audio amplifier design. At the exam receives a simple single transistor amplifier that it get right very easy. Theory subject: did not read the textbook theory, but he knows what it is about and explain by writing. Not maximum grade at theory, but gets a good grade. Overall it stands a far better than those who have not learned anything, Or tried to memorize theory without understand it.

It is the same with articles. Apparently calculate an impact factor and are good.
In reality a simple magazine assign different valuation for scientists.

For example a good economist became government advisor in country X.
He became great economist due to some articles in magazines from country Y.

Without success economists from country X contest him. They do not have enough articles are somehow dudes that contest the smart.

Those who contest them would like to write articles in magazines from country Y. But magazines' referees reject those articles. As a unilateral act of volition.

My attitude seems strange, but you know that the inventor of the integrated circuit(I hope I am not wrong) claim against articles?

Asked questions:
- - What are the ingredients of a successful ardicole (easily accepted)
-- - How useful are articles in career ? In engineering are not.

Publish or Perish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
