Is there a way an on-off push button switch can be used to activate a momentary switch?

I want to add lights and a garage door opener remote to my Zero Turn. The control panel has an spot for a standard, Toyota style switch. I found a dual switch that fits, but the garage door opener needs a momentary and all the switches I find are regular on-off. Is there a way to have the on-off switch trigger a momentary signal for the garage door opener each time it is switched? Thanks.

A relay could be configured to do that with a capacitor and a few other parts.
Is the switch SPDT or SPST?
Do you have 12V available?

Is a "Zero Turn" a riding lawn-mower?

Yes, Zero Turn is a riding mower. The switch is a SPST. And yes, 12V is available.

A relay can be configured to activate momentarily when the switch is turned ON and when turned OFF if desired.
Otherwise might as well just go with BobTPH's suggestion in post #2

Okay, so I found out some more information. I can get the switch in either an On-Off configuration, or a Momentary configuration. So, if I went with a Momentary, the garage door opener operation becomes easier. So is there a way for a Momentary switch to trigger a relay to stay on until the momentary switch is triggered again? Would this be easier?

Now I'm confused.
If you want a momentary signal for the garage door opener, then what's the purpose of the relay staying on?
You need to clearly state what you need.

Was the mower dealer asked if they sell such switch ?

Another way is to use any switch that fits the mower and perform minor surgery in its guts removing its latching mechanism so it will not latch, the modification converting it into momentary.

Does your mower have a horn button ? Its switch fits where you want ? Get another from the dealer.

You might be able to disassemble the switch and disable the latching mechanism. I have done it before, it will depend on the switch construction.

Though I am confused why you want this, yes. It called an impulse relay or a latching relay or a bistable latching relay. For example, here is one from HiLetgo, a reputable Chinese brand on Amazon.

One switch activates the garage door opener. The second switch turns on the lights via a relay. But both switches are within one housing and both are either ON-OFF or Momentary. When I first asked, I did not know they made a Momentary version.

Dual Switch.jpg
A Dual Switch. Not a double throw. It is two separate switches. Does that make more sense? And to as to why, my zero turn is also used to push snow, so I need lights. And it would just be convenient to operate the garage door while I am out plowing snow. Close it to keep the heat is when out plowing, then open it when I'm done, all without climbing off the seat.
